ASID New York Metro design team of led by Jacqueline Hosford, provided the design and project oversight as well as fundraising (mostly in-kind) through industry partners to procure materials, furnishings and labor. It was quite a feat. Super Storm Sandy put a halt to the project mid-stream. But when you commit to a client—especially one so worthy—you do everything you can to make it work.

the clients are almost entirely inner-city folks who've experienced the worst NYC has to offer. How much harder is it to turn your life around when surrounded by dreary interior spaces? We aimed to give them a more inspired view of our City and most importantly, bring a sense of nature—not brick and mortar—into their living space. even the original photos on the wall were of NYC park trees and ducks.
